Dear Mr. Hummer:Buying a home is one of the most stressful things adults can willingly do in their lifetime; it involves location and lifestyle change along with the transfer of a great deal of money. In addition, there are a hundred details and decisions that have to be made in order to make the process work.
We have been renting VRBO for the last six years, both here in Las Cruces as well as in Costa Rica; which means that the decision to buy a house not only involves a house, but also a houseful of new furniture along with completely changing our lifestyle.
When we saw a house on Picuris Court went on the market in early July, we checked out the details on your website. We were pleased with the style and location of the house, and that it had an attached casita and wonderful views of the mountains.
We began to search the Pueblos and surrounding neighborhoods and by coincidence noticed a house near the Sonoma Ranch Golf Course. We called the agent.
We met Reese that afternoon. Linda and I knew we had started down the path to a new house. Reese quickly qualified us and helped us narrow down the selection of properties that met our needs and were available.
One of the really nice parts of the process was that Reese and the office staff took control of the hundreds of details that needed to be decided; we had worries enough without having to remember the ‘i’s and ‘t’s that needed to be dotted and crossed.
After the offer was presented, countered, and accepted, Reese got us in touch with Henry Apodaca at First American and got the loan process started. Henry was very professional, friendly, and efficient from start to finish. Our inspection was done by Gary Saunders who was very thorough; including a re-inspection of items on the roof that we would not have been able to check ourselves.
Both Linda and I got to feel that Reese was a friend, not a real estate broker, and that he was truly looking out for our best interests every step of the way. This is the establishment of trust that an agent needs to create; trust that flattens and eliminates all of the ‘what-if’s that surround the process.
I know that the soup-to-nuts service that Reese handled for us involved many texts, phone calls, and e-mails; to us it was all in background.
At no point in time did we experience ‘buyer’s remorse’. If there were bumps in the road, we didn’t feel them.
